I'm going to take the lazy man's route (again) and just reply to you all in this comment:
Thank you all for the comments on the shot. I really wish I could say something like, "Yeah, I'm a camera rock star and using my amazing zone-system skills I factored the silhouette of the mountains into etc. etc." But, the truth is I was just as amazed at what was in my camera lens as you might have been when you saw the shot. This is just a case of me being in the right place at the right time, which is why I believe that location is the greatest factor of beauty in any photograph. After all, if you're standing in a windowless, pure-white room, you're not going to be able to photograph amazing colors.

I saw a quote once that said, I've never taken the shot how I intended. It either turns out better or worse than I expected. I probably just butchered this quote, but you get the idea.
